The Cancer Foundation Standing Order instructions

Thank you for choosing to make a regular donation to The Cancer Foundation by standing order.

Standing orders are easy to manage by the person donating as you have full control and can cancel it at any time.

When the form has been completed, please send it to The Cancer Foundation and we will process it within 7 working days.

If you are a tax payer in the UK, you can claim for Gift Aid which enables us to collect up to 25% of the donation back.

How Gift Aid works
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. Charities or CASCs take your donation - which is money you've already paid tax on - and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its 'gross' equivalent - the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.

Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to the charity. For donations between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011 the charity or CASC will also get a separate government supplement of three pence on every pound you give.

How to make a donation using Gift Aid
In order to make a Gift Aid donation you'll need to tick the box for Gift Aid at the bottom of the standing order form. The form can cover every gift made to the charity or CASC for whatever period you choose, and can cover gifts you have already made and/or gifts you may make in the future.

To claim Gift Aid the following details need to be included on the form:

• your full name

• your home address

• the name of the charity

• Gift Aid box needs to be ticked

Unwanted clothing

The Cancer Foundfation is about to launch its clothing collection program for recycling old unwanted clothes and goods.

If you receive one of our bags or leaflets through your door, please donate generously and one of our appointed representatives will collect the goods on the day specified.

We will arrange for the collection at a time convenient with you.
